Culture still a barrier to women leadership

The toxic culture holding women back from political leadership!

This audio feature examines how women continue to aspire for leadership positions in all spheres of governance and how invisible cultural barriers and expectations still interfere with their success. Solutions on how women can navigate these challenges are also highlighted.

The issue of tradition has been mentioned as one of the main obstacles, which hold back women from running for various political positions in Kenya.
Although there is little change now for society in embracing women’s leadership compared to the past, there still seems to be a long journey for equality in politics.

“Leadership should focus on values and vision and not gender.”
