The current state of child marriage in Nigeria

Child marriage is said to be a trigger of gender-based violence and an act of discrimination against the girl child. In Northern Nigeria, there are over 22 million Child brides despite Nigeria signing and ratifying several Child’s rights conventions which have led to the enactment of the Child’s rights act. Journalist Maimuna Muhammad Babangida speaks to Mr Olasunkanmi Kalejaiye to discuss the current state of child marriage in Nigeria through the Civil Society Organisations perspective.
