Her Media Diary Podcast Episode 2: Ruona Meyer

by Yemisi July 17, 2020 3 Comments

In this episode with Emmy-nominated journalist, Ruona J. Meyer, we talk investigative journalism, how to pitch yourself and your stories, and making use of the platforms available to you.  Her undercover investigation ‘Sweet, Sweet Codeine’ highlighted the plight of young Nigerians addicted to codeine syrup. Less that 24 hours of broadcasting Sweet, Sweet Codeine, the Nigerian government banned the import and manufacture of codeine-based syrup. In 2019, Ruona became the first Nigerian journalist to be nominated for an International Emmy Award.

Interviewing Ruona was insightful, fun and real. Her journey is testimony to the consequences of hard-work and dedication. Follow her on Twitter @RGAMeyer

Congratulations to Ruona Meyer . Well done to her , 17 years experienced on media is not else. I’m on 5 years on Media house (3 working as volunteer without any payment, and 2 but not yet until February next year) with contract as employee.

Through her Media Diary I learnt a lot things as women in a media.

Due her Media Diary ; What I can tell the upcoming journalist especial young ladies, to pull out their socks, to put more efforts, to avoid free gifts and all things which may lead them to fail to live their dreams.
