Facing insecurity as a children’s rights activist

Female activists rise against the odds to empower women and children. Whether it’s curbing child marriage or promoting education, these women fight at their own risk for peace and security.

This news story looks at the story of child rights an activist who has fought against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Kenya. During her work in advocacy, she shares some of the challenges she has faced which have placed her in dangerous and scary situations. Despite having fear when advocating for the rights of young children, she still shows perseverance to keep going until justice is served for all young girls in Africa.
